Cina Fundin
Each piece I make comes from a personal place. What began as a hobby grew into something more meaningful, a way of being.
After losing both my parents in early 2020, art became part of my everyday life. It gave me a quiet space to process grief, to breathe, to turn feelings into form. Art keeps me grounded, in many ways it keeps me well. For me, creativity is a kind of medicine, a source of healing.
Painting is my foundation but I also find great joy working with my hands, especially through traditional crafts. I experience them as a soft wingbeat from the past, carrying echoes of forgotten knowledge and care. There's something sacred in preserving those forms, something we shouldn't lose. Lately, I've begun creating dolls and jewelry too, figures made from yarn, fabric and clay. They give me another way to explore shape, color and soul through touch.
My work is shaped by contrast; light and depth, play and spirit. It's influenced by cartoons, myths, philosophy and above all, by the silence of nature. I grew up in the forests of northern Sweden and carry the stillness of mountains, trees and sky with me in all I do.
Thank you! for being here. I hope something in my world speaks to yours. And if you ever want to reach out, please do! I'd love to hear from you.
Selected Experience
My work has been featured in several home and interior magazines over the years, and in 2023 I held a solo exhibition in Stockholm. Due to health reasons I've kept a lower public profile since then, but my art has continued to grow and reach people in other ways. I've also been included in The European Art Guide (2022), a curated art book distributed to galleries across Europe, as well as Catalogued by Artportable (2024), a contemporary art publication showcasing emerging and established artists.
